Mi Cabin Luggage

Specs: Capacity: 64 liters; Weight: 4100 grams; Dimensions: 44 cms x 25 cms x 67.5 cms (LxWxH)

The Mi Cabin Luggage is the best cabin luggage for most people in India. It combines high quality and low price to give unbeatable value. The main thing going for it is the terrific build quality.

2. Skybags Cardiff Travel Duffle 20″

Skybags Cardiff Travel Duffle

Specs: Capacity: 39 liters; Weight: 2330 grams; Dimensions: 54 cms x 28 cms x 33 cms (LxWxH)

The Skybag Cardiff is the best soft cabin luggage you can buy in India. It has two wheels and comes in three different colours. The quality is decent and it is available for a great price.

A good thing about this bag is the length of the handle. It is longer than most other bags and helps in navigating the airport. It also has a lot of space when compared to other bags in this price range.

However, some users complained that the airlines considered this bag big enough to disallow any other cabin baggage with you. This is a great bag if its the only one you want to carry.

3. Nasher Miles Lombard Soft Side Cabin Luggage

Nasher Miles Lombard Soft Side Cabin Luggage

Specs: Capacity: 40 liters; Weight: 2.65 kg; Dimensions: 55 cms x 21 cms x 34 cms (LxWxH)

The Nasher Miles Lombard Cabin Luggage is the best luggage for people who want a hard case cabin bag but are on a budget. It checks all the right boxes.

It comes in five colours, is water-resistant, good build quality of the case and the wheels. It has a lock but it isn’t a TSA certified one but that is an acceptable trade-off considering the price.

We really liked the attractive design of the bag. But be warned, it is not as sturdy as the Mi Cabin Bag but that is to be expected. Buy it if your budget is below Rs. 2000.

The American Tourister Ellen is great option for those who do not like our top pick, the Mi Cabin Luggage. It has everything the Mi Cabin luggage has with the addition of water-resistance.

The design is great and will stand among the other bags. The only thing we thought was lacking was the stability and sturdiness of the bag when compared to the Mi Cabin Luggage. Other than that, this is a solid buy.

Fastrack Polyester 17 inches Blue Travel Duffle

We are not really fond of soft bags and we really do not like soft duffle bags. Do you know the ones that you have to carry on your shoulder half the time? Yeah, they suck.

But, if you do not have the budget to buy a trolley bag right now, then the Fasttrack Travel Duffle is a good option at a great price. It will store stuff enough to last you a day or two.

Different Types of Cabin Luggage

1. Trolley Bags

These are preferred by most people nowadays. They have wheels, sit upright and come in hard and soft outer materials. They should be the default option for most people.

2. Backpacks

Backpacks are great if you want to be hands-free. However, they do not offer the type of storage flexibility trolley bags and suitcases do.

3. Duffle Bags

Duffle bags are horizontal in shape. They have pockets outside to store additional stuff. They come in only soft material and also come in two wheels. The wheel option duffle bags are more expensive than without wheels.

How to Choose a Cabin Luggage

1. Whether to go for a suitcase or a backpack?

We would recommend either a trolley suitcase or a duffle bag. The backpack should be chosen for only really short trips or someone who absolutely hates carrying anything with his hands.

2. Whether to use a hard case or soft case bag?

Hard cases offer more protection than soft cases. Hard cases are made from polycarbonate, a fancy term for hardened plastic, and soft cases are usually made from polyster.

Since most people carry gadgets along with them, we prefer to use hard cases though soft cases do have some advantages like more space and flexibility.

3. Does my luggage need wheels? How many?

Fun fact: Wheels on suitcases wasn’t a thing before 1972. Yup, that’s right. For all this time since the invention of the wheel, we didn’t think of adding it to our luggage.

Anyway, trolley bags come in two as well as four wheels. We prefer a four-wheel suitcase since the suitcase can stand on its own and is easier to navigate through the airport with it.
